About

Claire Dunn Design is about creating unique and timeless garments and accessories, using only a specially curated collection of vintage and 'not new' fabrics.

Each piece is individually draped and crafted allowing the fabric to tell it’s own story for years to come.

All pieces are solely made by Claire Dunn in her studio in Buckfastleigh, a small town on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon

How it all began

After being kindly gifted some lengths of wool cloth that had been made some 50 years in Buckfastleigh Mill before it was closed in the 1970’s, Claire felt it was like a holding a piece of history and wanted to create something that was led by the fabric and enhanced it’s qualities. She also wanted to use as much of fabric as possible, with as little cutting as possible and so a cape seemed like the perfect garment. Bringing vintage into a contemporary wardrobe.

Sustainability and Fabrics

It is our belief that using fabrics already in existence is the most sustainable choice.

We only use vintage or 'not new' fabrics that are made of natural fibres and polyester free, creating unique handcrafted pieces for your wardrobe that will last a lifetime.

All our trims and buttons are also vintage or 'not new'.

All off cuts are saved and used to create other items.

All fabrics are carefully sourced from within the UK.

.

All items will be packaged using plastic free recyclable packaging.
